EM Radiation
People often call electromagnetic radiation (EMR) by its more user friendly name, electromagnetic field (EMF).
EMR is a naturally occurring phenomenon, and developed in a specific way as part of the earth’s ecosystem to allow life to flourish.
There are various forms of EMR that exist across the electromagnetic spectrum.
The earth produces a harmless DC form of EMR, but also converts some of the sun’s stronger radiation into useful radiation.
The earth’s “magnetic field” (different from electromagnetic field – EMF) protects life on earth from excessive external radiation.
It does let in the sun’s visible light (EMR) and a certain amount of the sun’s stronger EMR ultraviolet radiation (UV).
The earth absorbs some of the sun’s radiation and converts it into infrared radiation. It reflects the infrared radiation back into the environment and atmosphere as usable heat.

The earth’s magnetic field also repels more dangerous ionizing radiation like x-rays, gamma rays, and cosmic rays.
Ionizing radiation carries enough energy to break molecular bonds, damage cells, and kill life.
Thankfully the design of the earth’s ecosystem takes in what is supportive of life on earth.
Other forms of radiation that exist in the electromagnetic spectrum include radio waves and microwaves.
Some of the earth’s minerals are also radioactive, but they also naturally exist in concentrations that enable life on earth to flourish.
