An Alkaline Plant Based Diet Promotes Well-Being And Vitality

An alkaline plant based diet is based on the premise that eating alkaline plant based foods best support the 7.45pH balance the body maintains in the blood. This pH balance supports homeostasis, which is the optimal functioning of organs in the body. A pH of 7 is neutral and a 7.45pH is slightly alkaline.

Science indicates the body is designed to maintain a pH of the blood around 7.45 pH. Our bodies use buffering agents to maintain the required pH, when we constantly feed our bodies foods that acidify it. Overusing the buffering system can result in stripping of alkaline material from bones and organs to place in the blood. This weakens the bones and organs.

The body will strip alkaline material from bones and fluids to place in the blood to avoid metabolic acidosis. Metabolic acidosis can result in stroke and death. Feeding the body alkaline foods dictates whether the blood and body will be in a state of homeostasis and equilibrium.

Chronic Inflammation

Consuming animal based foods acidify the body and introduce hormones and pathogens that promote the destructive process of chronic inflammation. Inflammation itself is a natural defensive and healing process the body uses to kill and remove pathogens and toxins. The body sends white blood cells to kill and remove harmful pathogens and toxins during the inflammation process.

When we frequently consume animal based and processed foods the inflammation process becomes harmful, becoming chronic inflammation. During chronic inflammation the body is not able to turn off the inflammation process and it attacks itself. Chronic inflammation attacks the mucus membranes that lines and protects the body’s organs, leaving them susceptible to disease.

The inflammation process results in the body expelling mucus and the disease it envelopes. Chronic inflammation compromises the mucus membranes of organs, resulting in their deterioration and excessive mucus production and expelling..

Eating highly hybridized and starchy plant foods compromise and weaken the gut and digestive tract. Eating animal based foods introduce pathogens and toxins and acidify the body, and both promote chronic inflammation.

Physical activity holds equal importance alongside a plant-based diet in sustaining health and energy. It aids in boosting energy levels, enhancing mood, combating obesity, and lowering the likelihood of heart disease.

Hypertension – High Blood Pressure

Help lower high blood pressure. Hypertension is when your blood pressure or the force of your blood against the walls of your blood vessels is consistently high. The faulty condition of blood vessels, the content of your blood, or the combination of the two contribute to high blood pressure.

You must address both to help lower high blood pressure.

Systolic And Diastolic Blood Pressure

Systolic pressure (top number) is the pressure on the vessels as the heart blood pumps out of the heart into the arteries. Diastolic pressure (bottom number) is the pressure in the arteries as the heart rests between heart beats.

Arteries, Plaque, Hypertension

Blood vessels are normally elastic which reduces pressure put on the vessel walls as the heart pumps blood through them. The building of cholesterol plaque in vessels stiffens the vessels and contributes to pressure building in the vessels. As a person ages cholesterol plaque builds up overtime.

Only meat, dairy, and some processed foods contain cholesterol which contributes to the cholesterol buildup in the arteries. Plant food does not contain cholesterol. The body will make all the cholesterol it needs from fat, only hopefully this will only be plant fat.

You need to remove the cholesterol plaque from arteries to return their elasticity. It is important not to put cholesterol into the body through the consumption of animal products, to help lower high blood pressure. One way the body removes the cholesterol plaque is to use HDL to remove the LDL from the plaque. This gradual process strips plaque from arteries over time. You must stop putting animal fat and cholesterol in the body so the body will have chance to remove the plaque buildup.

Generally, the heavy consumption of oil undermines the health of the endothelial cells in arteries. The consumption of meals high in fat compromise endothelial function. Arteries contain a layer of cells called the endothelium. The endothelium controls the artery’s ability to dilate and constrict to move blood and nutrients on their way.

Even though you may be consuming vegetable oil, it is not a whole food and in general too much of it undermines arterial health, because many of the oils used are high omega-6 fatty acids. Omega-6 is necessary for optimal health but too much of it is harmful because it is pro-inflammatory in it’s nature. Too much consumption of omega-6 oils promotes inflammation in the body and arteries and undermines the health and elasticity of arteries. This helps to harden arteries and increase blood pressure.

Though grapeseed oil is great to cook with because of its high smoke point, grapeseed oil is high in omega 6 fatty acids and is inflammatory in the body and too much omega-6 contributes to high blood pressure. Here are a list of oils high in omega 6.

Kidney disease and thyroid disorders also contribute to high blood pressure. You address these conditions through removing meat, dairy, and processed food consumption, while eating only from the Dr. Sebi nutritional guide. You can also address these conditions through using herbs.

Herbs For Reducing High Blood Pressure

Checking Blood Pressure

Don’t check your blood pressure immediately after waking up, after eating, or working out. They can all drive up your blood pressure. Wait 1-2 hours to let your blood pressure normalize before taking your blood pressure.

What Is Normal Blood Pressure?

Normal: Less than 120 over 80 (120/80)
Prehypertension: 120-139 over 80-89
Stage 1 high blood pressure: 140-159 over 90-99
Stage 2 high blood pressure: 160 and above over 100 and above
High blood pressure in people over age 60: 150 and above over 90 and above

These numbers are normal under Western paradigm and approach to healing, but they are still too high. Dr. Greger makes a point for the ideal blood pressure to be 110/70.

The National Institutes of Health will likely recommend lowering the accepted blood pressure for people over 60 to 120/80.

Glucose levels in the blood is the focus of the diabetes issue, but glucose is only a symptom of the problem threatening the health of the pancreas. Focus should be equally on toxic fat buildup that interferes with proper glucose uptake.

Glucose stays in the bloodstream because it can’t enter cells. The pancreas will produce and deliver more insulin to the blood stream to help the glucose get into cells.  This doesn’t help because the toxic fat in muscles block the glucose from entering muscles. The leads to insulin resistance and Type 2 Diabetes.

This stresses the pancreas, plus the toxins and fat also clog the pancreas and can shut it down leading to Type 1 Diabetes.

Diabetes Cleansing

You need to cleanse the body on the intra-cellular level to restore it to a state of homeostasis. The first step is to remove the consumption of meat, diary, and processed foods which are the toxic fat offenders.

The common thought is to control the digestion and uptake of glucose into the bloodstream, which is good for addressing an aspect of the issue of diabetes but not the root of the problem.

Remove or severely reduce the consumption of the toxic fat.  Also control the digestion of processed sugars to not overrun the bloodstream with glucose. Removing the consumption of processed foods and starchy foods not of the Dr. Sebi nutritional guide is helpful.

By removing the consumption of meat, dairy, and processed foods you limit the amount of fat entering the body, which then allows the body to focus on removing stored toxic fat.

Once stored stored toxic fat is removed from cells, the cells can uptake glucose more efficiently. The pancreas could have been compromised and may have difficultly producing insulin normally so the pancreas needs to be healed.
