Cliff Jumping Negril Jamaica 2012 – Rick’s Cafe And Catcha Falling Star Hotel
Jamaica Series – Cliff Jumping – I Couldn’t Resist Jumping Into Jamaica’s Aqua Blue Waters
Will you just look at the water. Incredible. There are different layers of color in the water. Nearest the coastline, the water is aqua blue. A little further out, the water is a light blue. A little further out the water is a rich translucent deeper blue. I was in Negril for two and a half days for a wedding and I didn’t get to do as much as I wanted to do. I stayed at the the “Catcha Falling Star” hotel, which is right next to Rick’s Cafe in Negril, Jamaica.
I arrived in Negril on a Friday and visited Rick’s Cafe and saw people cliff diving. I decided that I wanted to try it but i wasn’t prepared to do so that day. I said to myself that I would try it the next day. The next day arrived and I realized the Rick’s Cafe opened after noon and I couldn’t wait until it opened because I had to get prepared to go to a wedding.
The hotel had its own cliffs so I dove from those. I did get some video of the other people diving from Rick’s Cafe the day before. The hotel also offered scuba diving and snorkeling, but once again I didn’t have time to do either. People there told me scuba diving is a beautiful and very calming experience, and I can’t wait to go scuba diving. I have made a mental note that scuba diving in Negril is on my bucket list, so I can see the sea life the most beautiful waters of Jamaica has to offer.
I did get a couple of dives in at my hotel. On one dive gone wrong, I tried to do a somersault and didn’t land in the best position and my left eye smashed into the water. My father thought I was going to have a black eye for the wedding, but I didn’t develop a black eye. My eyelid was a little sore for two days though. Oh well, I like living and sometimes things like this happen.
