Avoid Aluminum Pots And Pans

It is better to avoid using aluminum pans/pots because they leach aluminum into the food.

Excess aluminum has a negative association with the brain and undermines brain function. High aluminum levels results in neurotoxicity and increased rates of Alzheimer’s disease.[1]

Manufacturers add aluminum to processed foods, cosmetic products including antiperspirants, toothpaste, and also to drugs.

People who work with aluminum, like aluminum welders and foundry workers have higher levels of aluminum in their blood and urine.

The public water supply system also uses aluminum as a method for treating public water.

Avoid Non Stick Pans

Is is better to avoid using pots and pans that use non-stick coatings. When you heat pots and pans coated with nonstick chemicals you release toxic chemicals into the food and the air.

Teflon is a brand name for a man-made chemical known as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). Cooking with PTFE coated pots and pans releases various toxic gases and chemicals into air and food.

Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), also known as C8, is a toxic chemical environmental pollutant used in the production of PTFE. [2]

Due to toxicity concerns, manufacturers have developed other chemicals like GenX as an alternative nonstick coatings, but these alternatives are also suspected of having similar toxicity.

It is better to avoid the use of pots and pans coated with man-made chemicals.
