Tia Mowry Poses For A New Peta Campaign

Tia Mowry, former star of the TV show “Sister Sister” and co-star of the upcoming TV show “Tia and Tamara” became a vegan and posed for a PETA campaign celebrating her converting to veganism.

Peta had a apron designed out of live vegetables for Tia to wear for the photo shoot, and that is all she wore besides a pair of high heal shoes. I may get some negative response to this, but I was a bit surprised that PETA chose to associate this imagery with their campaign, but then I recalled PETA often uses shock value to get their point across.

Other than the choice to have Tia Mowry introduce her veganism this way, I applaud Tia Mowry for using her celebrity status to bring attention to the benefits of adopting a plant based diet. When Tia Mowry became a vegan she received a lot of criticism on Twitter and when PETA became aware of this they jumped in to help her. The sent Tia a bunch of cooking books and pamphlets about PETA to help her on her vegan journey.

Tia Mowry decided to be part of the Ad campaign because she “wanted to be a voice for her community.” She wanted to “educate her culture about becoming a vegan.” Tia Mowry explains that there is a stigma associated with becoming a vegan, and that the food doesn’t taste great. She explains that you shouldn’t knock it until you try it, and that the flavors are very vibrant.
