Rachel Platten Blessed 7-Year-Old Cancer Survivor Jeremiah Succar With A Duet
Pop star Rachel Platten brightened 7-year-old cancer survivor Jeremiah Succar’s day with a surprise duet of her hit song, “Fight Song.” Platten’s song is an anthem and inspiration for people facing all kinds trials in life, including battling cancer.
Platten visited Succar at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) where they performed a heart-tugging duet. Succar performed the song bravely and their video rendition is now inspiring people all over the world via Youtube.
His father, Jerry Succar, told CHLA the his son loves the “Fight Song,” and he memorized the lyrics to the song after three or four times of listening to it. Platten found out Jeremiah Succar loved and was strengthened by her song through his family’s #RachelMeetJeremiah social media campaign, and she decided she had to meet him.
As of September 3 the duet’s rendition of the “Flight Song” has 152,894 Youtube views and is sure to have much more by day’s end. Jeremiah Succar did appear to have something on his mind, which he held out to ask until he finished his duet.
He asked Platten for her autograph immediately after they finished singing, and she laughed. You know she obliged his request.
CHLA’s blog said Jeremiah Succar has stage-four atypical rhabdoid teratoid, “an aggressive, fast-growing tumor that occurs in the brain and spinal cord.” Despite his cancer, Succar is remaining strong which shows through his politeness and kindness.
