Colon Cleanse

It is good to do a colon cleanse and remove parasites that may be in the colon. It is important to clean your colon to protect against an imbalance of “good” and “bad” bacteria, and to protect against parasites. The imbalance can promote can weaken the intestinal wall and the protective mucus membrane of the colon. This can promote colon cancer and other chronic diseases like lupus and small intestine bacteria overgrowth (SIBO).

The colon’s, also called the large intestine, job is to absorb water from waste, compact it, and pass it from the body through the anus.

Fiber and Good and Bad Bacteria

The “good” bacteria, also called micro-flora or flora, feed on the fiber and resistant starch that enters it. The flora produce nutrients like vitamin K, vitamin B, and butyrate. They reenter the bloodstream for the body to use.

Meat, dairy, and processed foods lack fiber and cause the intestines to overwork to process them. This can lead to the development of diverticula, which are pockets in the mucous membrane lining the digestive tract. The pockets trap waste which can become toxic and contribute to the development of chronic diseases.

People can carry 20 or more pounds of putrid fecal matter in these pockets, and many health experts believe this is a leading cause of illnesses. The putrid waste leaks toxins into the bloodstream, and the waste feed the harmful bacteria in the digestive tract.

Fiber is the main component the colon needs to support healthy function. Too many people who eat a diet centered on meat and dairy consumption have fiber deficient diets. Vegetables, fruits, and grains are loaded with fiber.

Eat plenty of vegetables, fruits, grains, and drink spring water to clean the digestive tract. You may also need assistance cleaning the digestive tract if you have a lot of impacted waste in your colon and even small intestine.

When I adopted alkaline plant based diet I performed a long term herbal colon cleanse, and I jump started it with a short term colon cleanse.

Herbal Colon Cleanse

You can effectively clean the digestive tract by consuming an alkaline plant based diet based on the Dr. Sebi nutritional guide and alkaline herbs.

Enemas

(Disclaimer: I promote the Dr. Sebi methodology. The methodology doesn’t support the use of enemas. Enemas flush the colon with water. This removes good and bacteria. The methodology doesn’t support the use of enemas because enemas remove the good bacteria. I only support the use of enemas as a jump start if the colon is totally out of balance.)

You shouldn’t perform enemas often because their extended use can throw of the balance of bacteria in the colon. When used as a one time use and jumpstart, you can quickly deal with an imbalance of bad bacteria. Eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, and fiber will restore the good flora. Using the colon cleansing herbs in the Dr. Sebi methodology will over time cleanse the colon of parasites, toxins, and pathogens.

I know it sounds yucky, but we do have them. Parasites do live in humans. The good thing is we can get rid of parasites.

Intestinal parasites can cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, gas, bloating, weight loss and other symptoms.

Boil 1 quart of water and then remove from fire. Add the following to the water.

  • 1/2 tsp cloves: contain a very strong germicidal agent, which works very effectively in killing adult parasites and their larvae (roundworms and flatworms).
  • 1/2 teaspoon black walnut: traditional herbal remedy used to kill parasites
  • 1/2 tsp wormwood: traditional herbal remedy used to expel roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms

Let cool and add to an enema bag.
