Bloomberg to fingerprint public housing residents, if he has his way. Bloomberg came up with this latest fingerprinting crime fighting idea to go along with his unconstitutional Stop and Frisk campaign which unfairly targets young black and hispanic males. His policies criminalizes all young black and hispanic males for just being young black and hispanic males.

His policy profiles and criminalizes all young black and hispanic males for the actions of the few who commit crimes. His policy creates an environment that removes hope and chokes the life out of the decent law abiding individuals when his policies are supposed to target people who commit crimes.

Bloomberg: Unconstitutional “Stop And Frisk”

Bloomberg was responding to questions about Federal Judge Shira Schendlin’s ruling on the “Stop And Frisk” program when the topic shifted to security and the New York City Housing Authority. Federal Judge Shira Schendlin ruled that the Stop And Frisk policy is unconstitutional and the NYPD deliberately violated the civil rights of tens of thousands of New Yorkers with its Stop and Frisk policy.

Speaking Friday on his weekly radio show, Bloomberg response to the judge’s ruling was “What does she know about policing? Absolutely zero… Your safety and the safety of your kids is now in the hands of some woman who does not have the expertise to do it.” It appears that in this situation Bloomberg has little concern for constitutional rights of the people who are being violated as long as he is achieving his goal. Even so, the judge did not order an end to the practice, but instead appointed an independent monitor to oversee changes to the policy.

Bloomberg To Fingerprint Public Housing Residents

While responding to the judge’s decision Bloomberg shifted the conversation to making the city’s public housing safer. Bloomberg wants to fingerprint more than 600,000 people who live in public housing. He said it would be done to make the projects safer.

Bloomberg to fingerprint public housing residents so they can enter their own homes, again creating an environment that does not promote hope but criminalizes all of the residents and put them into a police state.

Bloomberg felt setting up a finger printing system would make the projects safer because “there’s an allegation that some of these apartments aren’t occupied by the people who originally have the lease.” Really, and allegation? If this is true, would this automatically make these people the one’s who commit crimes?

Bloomberg pointed out that while New York City Housing Authority building house about five percent of the city’s population, they account for about 20 percent of city crime. If this number is actually correct and not ballooned, where is the focus on the people who commit the other 80 percent of city crime? Though the percentage for crimes committed is higher for public housing residents, the 80 percent of crimes committed by non public housing residents is a much higher percentage of crimes committed public housing residents.

What is being done about the 80 percent of city crime being committed by non public housing residents? Is it easier to just target and criminalize the poor? Will these same measures be taken with private homes in the suburbs to track criminals?

I don’t think so. The push will continue for Bloomberg to fingerprint public housing residents which will be another measure along with Stop and Frisk to disenfranchise poor minority communities and further the divide between the rich and poor, and between races.
