FDA Approves Herpes Virus As Cancer Treatment
Yes we have come upon some desperate times in our healthcare. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the use of the herpes virus to treat melanoma lesions in the skin and lymph nodes.
We have become a drug culture and basically drug companies are able to get people to take most any drug even though if the drug has been shown to be harmful.
The FDA has approved the use of Imlygic, a drug that contains the live herpes virus, to inject directly into melanoma lesions because the virus replicates inside cancer cells and ruptures the cells causing cell death. The virus also gives you herpes.
I think many people would take herpes over cancer if it would cure cancer. This treatment which would cost over $65,000 has been able to kill cancer cells, but it hasn’t been able to show that it can cure cancer or extend life.

The drug has been shown to be able to shrink tumor at the injection site, but it has had no effect on melanoma that had spread to the brain, lungs or other internal organs.
