Colon cancer forms from polyps in the colon. In several different studies researchers successfully reduced the number of polyps and reduced the size of remaining polyps by administering curcumin supplements to participants in the studies.
In one study[1] participant polyps were reduced by 60% and the size of the remaining polyps were reduced by 50% with treatment of a combination of curcumin and quercetin.
In another study[2] curcumin supplements alone significantly reduce the amount of aberrant crypt foci in the colon, which are the precursors to the polyps, which are the precursors to colon cancer.
