Rod Stewart Performs At Prostate Cancer U.K. With The Faces
Rod Stewart performed at the Prostates Cancer U.K. Concert with the Faces. The event took place in Surrey, England, on September 5 to raise raise for cancer research.
This was the Faces first public concert together in decades. Rod Stewart joined the Faces to the pleasure of the 5,000 people who attended the concert at the Hurtwood Park Polo Club.
Stewart joined guitarist Ronnie Wood, drummer Kenney Jones, and nine other musicians backing up the performance with horns and backup singers. The Faces performed without bandmates Ronnie Lane and Ian McGlagan who passed away.
The Faces split up in 1975, which is why they haven’t performed as a group in decades. Stewart hasn’t appeared with the band since a one-time performance at the 1993 British Awards.
Stewart tweeted the night’s seven-song set list along with the message “A perfect rockin’ evening with my mates.”
